Cunard White Star Line, 1st Class, RMS 'Queen Mary' c-1936 early pre war fine bone china demitasse or small coffe cup & saucer in the qm banded ivory pattern designed for the ship back in 1936, this piece dating from around 1936, her maiden year or so.
This is the true 'ivory' shade Cunard White Star had intended onboard, it would later be replaced with a slightly lighter colour that was more risistant to being washed off in the ships giant dishwashers.
The early service being manufactured by Copelands of Spode fame, latre the contact would switch to Foley. This early service is seldom seen.
In used but very condition for a piece 80 years old this year!
