White Star Line to Cunard, a 100 years of steamship china & silver plate. This weeks arrivals.

by Jonathan Quayle |

This weeks arrivals, spanning over 100 years of steamship & ocean liner First Class china and silver plate service.

From c-1913 First Class White Star Line silver plate nut or lobster crackers by Elkington plate, china identical to that used on RMS Titanic, all dated around 1911 so most likely originating from the Olympic. Through to silver ware from the Queen Mary dating from her maiden year of 1936, to more modern day china, the elusive black edged pattern used exclusively in QE2's gills in the early 1990's by Wedgwood.
