White Star Line, 1st Class demitasse coffee cup & saucer in the turquoise Wisteria pattern especially chosen for and used onboard the 'Olympic' & 'Titanic', manufactured and retailed by the famous firm Stoniers of Liverpool.
The pattern continued in use on the White Star Line's post WW1 flagship RMS Majestic.
Similar examples of this pattern and shape have been recovered from the Titanic wreck site. A stack of these saucers were photographed during on of the early 2000 dives within the Titanic wreck in the region of the 1st Class Reception. Still placed within a deteriorating wood rack, waiting for the next serving of morning coffee that would never come.
This example in used but very good condition, gold rim is intact. Overall good order as you would expect from being 100+ odd years old and used within a ship on the atlantic run, about as good an example as you will find on the open market.
No chips or cracks (see pictures), no restoration. These sets are getting increasingly hard to find in good condition.
